Message from the Superintendent

I would like to express my gratitude to you for a great school year. A goal in our schools is that our students have an exceptional experience where excellence, curiosity, and resilience drive their achievement and growth. Thank you for your partnership in making learning without limits possible for our students.

Monday night, we celebrated the commencement exercises for the Class of 2026. It was a wonderful time to honor the 580 students who earned a diploma from Vestavia Hills High School. Their accomplishments are truly impressive, including an incredible $45 million in scholarship offers (you can see the full list here). These accolades are an annual reminder of the hard work of our students and staff, and the dedication you show your children from the moment they first walk through our elementary school doors.

On behalf of our Board of Education, I want to thank you for entrusting your children to us. We consider it a privilege to walk alongside them in their academic journey.

I hope your summer is one that is filled with many blessings of time and memories with family and friends!

Todd Freeman, Ed.D.
Superintendent

The Board approved Jonathan Handey as the new President of the Board of Education and Kyle Whittington as the Vice President.
