In Vestavia Hills City Schools, caring isn’t an abstract idea — it’s what happens in the small, unscripted moments with the people who make up our school community. This year, we’re keeping that idea front and center: caring for students, for one another, and for the community we all share.
We don’t have to look far to find it. At Vestavia Hills Elementary Liberty Park, new School Resource Officer Andy Chapman settled right into the VHELP family by pulling up a chair for a serious chess match with a group of first graders. At Vestavia Hills Elementary Cahaba Heights, the carpool team greets every student with a smile each morning and sees them safely to their cars each afternoon regardless of the weather. And at Liberty Park Middle School, the PE department has gone above and beyond to help sixth graders find their footing during the transition to middle school.
